This was a brazen attempt to silence one of the only critical voices on a board that has almost no checks or balances. Crazy to me how many people I see online have insisting Coun. Kroetch was somehow in the wrong here.
So much air and ink is spent criticizing the city for lacking transparency; where is that same energy when it comes to the police services board? #hamont

It's crazy they even considered any other solution. Would've set an awful precedent. Hopefully the owner will be made to reimburse the city taxpayer for the cost of remediating the land.

Every day I am more and more convinced to pull the trigger on one of these.
Counsellor Kroetsch brought forward multiple amendments to the budget and they were all ruled in order, discussed, and voted on. Spadfora and his ilk are just butthurt they got their hand slapped for not doing their homework.
I don't love the strong mayor powers, but this just sounds like butthurt nimby counsellors who didn't bother to learn the budget rules being mad their plans for budget cuts didn't pan out and now they're looking for somewhere to lay the blame.

I regularly ride my bike to do errands in Counsellor Francis' ward. I went to do groceries by bike yesterday in Ward 5. The fact that the counsellor of this ward does not think that my life and safety are worth spending money on is really discouraging.

I do not understand why counsellors are still so hellbent on killing the LRT after all this time. We have huge monetary commitments from province/fed. Work is already ongoing. How much more of a done deal is required?
Share of eligible voters in 2022 Ontario election. This is ridiculous. Technically, "Did Not Vote" won the election. Across all of North America, the complacency and apathy of the voting populace threatens the fabric of society. Get off your lazy asses and vote.
