Danke für die Klarstellung. Aber selbst wenn ich die "noch", "sehr wahrscheinlich" und "nicht" aussen vor lasse, dann bleibt doch ein fades Gefühl: Bei der Stilllegung der Kohlekraftwerken ist nicht 100% sicher (oder nicht klar ersichtlich), dass das auch CO2 mindernd wirkt?!
Das ist der Politik natürlich klar. Obwohl jedoch die Emissionshandelsrichtlinie die Löschung von überschüssigen Zertifikaten vorsieht, hat Deutschland bisher kein einziges Zertifikat gelöscht. Die Gründe dafür liegen im EU Recht und in Details des Zertifikatehandelsmechanismus.
Wenn ein Kohlekraftwerk stillgelegt wird, bleiben die Emissionsrechte, die das Kraftwerk verbraucht hätte, erhalten und können von anderen Emittenten gekauft werden. Dies bedeutet, dass der Kohleausstieg nicht unbedingt zu einer Reduzierung der CO2-Emissionen führt.
