NAT ARE PROTESTING AGAIN AND ITS TIME TO MASK UP
1pm tomorrow (Sunday 22nd) NAT and those who fight for justice will assemble at Biran Clough statue
We’re protesting against the high court ruling at would allow employers to ask trans women to use gender neutral bathrooms
Today the high court ruled transgender people have a legal right to use the bathroom that aligns with their gender.
Except employers must provide segregated spaces unless they’re individually lockable rooms
We cannot let segregation return to British politics

The EHRC is set to introduce guidance that would enable prejudice business owners and charities to limit trans people access to gendered space soon. This would make it more difficult for already vulnerable people to safely access work, education, charity support and public life in general. NAT wants you, the trans people and allies of Nottingham, to make our voices heard, to wave your banners. To show that we exist and the bright joyful contribution we make to society and what it will be missing without us if we keep being exclude by legislation based on misinformation and hatred.

While we all enjoy living our lives and celebrate with pride, we cannot forget that Stonewall, the start of the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement, was a riot against police weaponising sexual violence against trans women, like the British Transport Police are threatening to do now in light of the inconsistent, dangerous guidance issued by the UK Supreme Court. This pride month cannot earnestly be a month of celebrating queer lives without the following pressing issues being addressed: • UK government departments are currently working with ‘sex matters’ an organisation dedicated to ‘reducing the number of trans people,’ while simultaneously shutting out trans voices; an egregious violation of the “nothing about us, without us” principle which remains a cornerstone in preventing violence and medical violence against disabled and minority communities. • Despite numerous peer reviewed studies stating trans women hold no physical advantage over cis women after a certain point of HRT, trans women are still being barred from sports - including sports such as darts, pool or chess, where physical attributes are largely irrelevant. • Trans people are being de facto banned from public spaces by criminalising trans dignity. The ability to safely use toilets without fear of harassment or violence is critically necessary for both work and education. • Civil service employees being prevented from supporting the LGBTQ+ community by arbitrarily banning pride or trans-coloured lanyards in order to “save money,” while government finances continue to be thrown away on CEO bonuses for mismanaged water companies illegally dumping sewage. • Trans people are regularly denied access to domestic violence shelters and survivor’s services. Nottingham survivors are lucky to have pro-trans survivor’s services available to them – it is critical that this minimum standard of care is extended to trans victims of violence across the country. • Medical violence and withheld care is responsib…
As allies and even passers-by recognise that the discrimination we face and have faced at the hands of consecutive governments is completely unacceptable, let us seize this moment to act now, and to ensure a future where we can all of us stand together in strength and in pride!

With less than a month to go, download festival have announce they will be banning trans gender people from the bathrooms that match their gender presentation creating massive safety and dignity issues. Download have chosen to implement proven abuser Kishwer Falkner's interpretation of the recent supreme Court ruling and not the ruling itself that states: 'It is not the role of the court to adjudicate on the arguments in the public domain on the meaning of gender or sex, nor is it to define the meaning of the word “woman” other than when it is used in the provisions of the EA 2010.' Bands have already started to hit back against the organisers stating “If the only way we can piss is by outing ourselves then you’ve created an unsafe environment"

After an appalling case of a teacher accessing sensitive data about a student and transferring it to a non-secure network, but judge uphold their dismissal as lawful adding: transitioning children should have anonymity over their true biological sex "for life" to respect their privacy and ensure their future safety. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4gre53drqvo
