I think that would fit greatly! but maybe you can play with the speed a bit.
Maybe you can make them start slow and speed up as the character moves, or the opposite, or both.
I see you using godot (the great), try applying curves to the speed, if you using Tweens try changing the transition type.
This is really cool, good job! Personally I think the linear movement the characters do before attacking is a bit weird, but it's already pretty good!

I finally finished Cell !!!.
This artwork was a bit tricky, Cell was bigger than I expected and it was a challenge to get him to pose without him being crooked. I still think I can improve it, but I don't know how.
