I'm glad you've found someone to learn with! And YES! Progress is progress no matter how small or slow. I feel like without growing up in the culture or around those speaking the language, it's much harder given that there are so many characters. Same goes for both Chinese languages.
the land aches for peace
They have color now?! I haven't had a tamagotchi since I was like 9.
It's time for the Sunday dreads. My jobs "scores" us on a 100% scale. They've changed metrics, and at the moment, I am not scoring where I need to be even though I was a few months ago. Everyone else is struggling for the most part too. And now, I'm terrified I'll lose my job for performance.
I should be getting ready for bed, but instead, I am reading. I may turn to games, who knows. But now I'll probably be thinking about why I have to pretend to sleep some nights to actually fall asleep.
I've wanted to learn Japanese, but it feels overwhelming and I never really had a solid motivating factor
Correction - book #7
What unhinged things do your villagers say/send to you?
Yesss came to the comments because that was my first thought too!
Wanted to post every book as I got to them this year, but that clearly hasn't happened yet... Here's book #6 for the year!
More Perfect by Temi OH
Do you keep talking to them past that? I'll talk to them several times and the friendship builds, so they'll start saying more and more.
I got watercolors paper recently and haven't even used it. I am definitely trying it with gouache now though. Both ARE great, and I think I've leaned into my watercolors more because they dry like ink and can't be reactivated (the kind I bought at least, I know most aren't like that)
They really are! Bob is a villager of a friend of mine, but I always enjoy talking to him when I visit! He definitely says some unhinged stuff π
I really need to get back into using my gouache! I love painting with it but have been using watercolors more lately. But...jelly gouache is soooo smooth.
I really wish I thought about getting on here more because bluesky has such a warm and cozy feel with the people I follow π maybe I'll add it to my homescreen so that I'll use it more π
I don't think I want any water next time I'm over, Bob.
I had the same thought π
First game of 2026 was finished on Jan. 6
Coffee Talk. May or may not play the second and third, but I did enjoy this one.
The journal is inspired by @gamingingyellow.bsky.social
Two current games are Skate Story on Switch 2 and Coffee Talk
First book of 2026 is done! This one got a little graphic at certain points - at least if you have a very visual mind. Involved African mythology and 15th century history blended into a novel.
I read 32 books out of my set 12-book goal for 2025!
My top 5 favorites were:
1. Water Moon by Samantha Sotto Yambao (read 3 times)
2. Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
3. The Lamb by Lucy Rose
4. A Spartan's Sorrow by Hannah Lynn
5. The Curse of the Wendigo by Rick Yancey
So excited for these #cozygaming items for my #Switch2 to come tomorrow! Will update with them on the console! It's going to be SO cute π₯Ή
Gotta love old people who scoff at and comment on me wearing a mask because I WILL get sick if I don't π₯Ή
These make me want to get Minecraft for creative mode....but I worry I wouldn't be any good at designing/building stuff.
I didn't ever own on but my preschool had one. All I ever played on it was Aladdin. I don't know that I ever knew there were more games until I got older π
Also, even if it isn't generative, it still has many negative impacts on the environment.
I made a meme. Itβs a bunch of Spider-Mans pointing at each other with a little hamster (me) in the middle. On each Spider-Man is a word. The words are: anxiety, depression, fatigue, nausea, chronic pain, ptsd, and capitalism.
the gangβs all here
Update. I *may* be overthinking. Who knows? Cause it isn't me!
Did you ever hit a point where you had no idea what to do with the rest of your island on #acnh?
Like...there's still a lot of room, but I have no idea how to fill it.
