Not here often anymore (life) but this article makes my blood boil. Does nobody think to google "how to EV road trip"? There's plenty of info out there (in addition to pieces I'vew done myself)

Australiaβs first sub-$25k EV has landed as used Tesla Model 3s and Ys dip under $30k. What would you go for? Buy a brand-spanking BYD or a slightly-loved Tesla? Here are the pros and cons.
Well, the specs have been released on the Zeekr 7X!
It starts at $57,990 AUD, is loaded with tech (including V2L) and charges in 13 minutes! And that's just the entry level one!
Video coming tomorrow with estimated NZD prices. Should be good. π
Electric vehicles are now under the magnifying glass of the Real World Testing Program, which aims to give drivers more understanding of how much fuel their cars actually use β or in the case of #EVs, how much range they actually offer.
Yes, kei cars are very popular there but our culture and roads are very different. Itβs the same as Europe where there are tiny streets where only tiny cars can go down. And of course a lot more people (and cars) in much smaller countries.
There is an argument to ditch fuel excise and replace with weight based road user fees. This would discourage oversized battery electric cars also (I donβt disagree with this!)
The cult of large cars, and increasingly larger, in Australia is going to be a tough nut to crack
Honda has promised an EV in 2026 - the most likely candidate is the e:Ny1. Another mid-sized SUV - what do you think?

True
Wow remember when people thought rock n roll would ruin the world?
Yes well aside from that
Already have a 22 model but Iβd consider it? I like the roof but it is extra hot in summer (yes, I use climate to counter that)
Well, would you?
Oh itβs been a while! A bit of a fun write up of Jauntβs electric Moke

LFP share is on the rise and sat at 30% in 2022

Most nickel is used for stainless steel. According to this chart, 15% is used for batteries. An estimated 80% of that is used for EVs, so about 12%. (LFP not inc in nickel share here is about half that of EVs with nickel chem) - links to follow
What's the deal with #V2G in Australia, and when will bidirectional electric car chargers be available?

Last week I got to take the Kia EV3 compact electric SUV for a drive around the Gold Coast hinterland. First review I've done in a little while. Nice little car!

It chooses the shortest range EV on the market π by defaultβ¦ also appears hybrid drivers do not need to stop at all on 9.5 hour drive
More than 150 βunprecedentedβ climate disasters struck world in 2024, says UN #Climate
Weird that they didnβt add that at the top. Now I look on desktop the choice (erp) is there after hitting Estimate, but itβs right at the bottom on mobile - bad UI
Apparently so
Does my head in when articles arenβt properly referenced. This is great also
Odd little vehicle range comparison from Choice that claims electric cars can only drive 222km on the highway, without being transparent about which model theyβve used. You can only choose the petrol vehicle

V2L is shaping up as a point of difference for plug-in hybrids, and with bigger batteries than an early Leaf, also provide a large power source
Oc, PHEVs need regular charging to achieve promised fuel efficiency - and they're not always a cheaper choice than BEVs

Youβve got eggs! π good luck getting that little slippery sucker
Interesting point. Canberra is very progressive on EVs - and also has a fair amount of apartments. Whatβs the state of affairs for charging at home there of no access to a driveway?
Definitely the best year yet. So much itβs going to be hard to do a wrap article that encapsulates it all!
