"You have successfully registered"
โThank you for your application for media accreditation to Reform UKโs 2025 national conference. On this occasion your accreditation request has been declined.โ
Yes, I'm a journalist who's critical of Farage and Reform UK. But I'm an accredited journalist with a press card, I'm the political editor of a weekly magazine, and when I registered back in May I got confirmation it was "successful". Until today, when it's now "declined". Here's the pics:
Democrat @raskin.house.gov excoriates Nigel Farage for banning journalists from Reform UK events:
"I'm asking you a direct question. Why do you ban journalists who oppose your views from coming to your events? Why did you tell local government not to do interviews with your local newspaper?"
Negotiations have been underway for some time and there is confidence all round that fish will not be an obstacle to a UK-EU defence agreement.
On the one hand it's offensive and wrong. On the other, it's a tell that he's realised he promised loads of things he hasn't got a hope of delivering and he knows that people either already see this or will do soon - Canada as 51st state, lower prices, a growing economy, peace in Ukraine...

A tweet from Roger Sollenberger describing a script that "allows viewers to filter employees by office, union status, and whether positions are statutorily mandated," with the script.
๐จ๐จ๐จ On Xitter, Roger Sollenberger unpacked the Github of one of Elon's DOGE boys.
It includes:
1) A script to download X DMs
2) A script to filter HR data by union membership
3) Data on undersea cables and valuable minerals

This is an indication of the kind of political consensus that can be built if Labour makes the right case for breaking its red lines: Uniting right wing concerns about defence & patriotism, left-wing demands for investment & independence from the US, and widely-shared commitments to Ukraine.
Lots of real sense being talked here - some of it really needed.
Itโs needed! New working group led by former AG, Dominic Grieve will provide "guidance to govt & other bodies to support further action on tackling religiously motivated hate"
Announcing the new review, Rayner said: The rise in anti-Muslim hate crime is unacceptable & has no place in our society
โAmerica is going downโ: China can capitalise on damage caused by Trump.
Speaking to the Guardian in Beijing, retired senior colonel Zhou Bo said that Trump was damaging the USโs reputation โmore than all of his predecessors combinedโ.

A picture of the world leaders at the summit in Lancaster House in London. The from row has Starmer in the middle flanked by Rutte from NATO, Macron, Zelenskyy and Scholz
NEW: This is a powerhouse summit gathered in London.
Starmer has confirmed UK & France are now leading the peace process, with Ukraine.
Trump has disqualified himself & the US.
UK has also agreed to use profits from seized Russian assets to fund Ukraine ๐

Wow: JD Vance is apparently skiing in Vermont this weekend and the locals arenโt having it. Thousands have lined the streets in protest.

A No 10 spokesperson said: "The prime minister has tonight spoken to both President Trump and President Zelensky. "He retains unwavering support for Ukraine, and is doing all he can to find a path forward to a lasting peace based on sovereignty and security for Ukraine."
Wanting the PM to NOT be cautious at such a critical moment is incredible to me. Wanting him to always add heat, escalate the rhetoric, make strident media statements before thinking them through *is the Trump way*. This may be less satisfying to you, but it is a better way to protect a country. 2/2
Risks of Trump doing a succession of blunders that shake global confidence in US Treasuries are underpriced
In 14 years of Conservative misrule, they never spent 2.5% defence, Conservative Government last spent more than 2% on defence was under Sir John Major when British forces were on active deployment in the North/NI & were also deployed on overseas territories and in post cold-war Germany #bbclaurak
๐ดLike Brexit, Trump and Musk's Agenda is 'Ideologically Incoherent and Ultimately Self-Defeating'
The disaster of Brexit is now being replicated on a global scale by a US administration determined to shoot its country's own interests in the foot, argues former UK diplomat Alexandra Hall Hall
You scratch my back; Iโll scratch yours. Case was worst Cabinet Secretary I can ever recall. Completely failed in his duty to uphold the core principles of the UK civil service- integrity, honesty, objectivity and impartiality. Played a huge role in the growing rot of our political establishment.
Multiple lawmakers in Munich told the Washington Postโs @joshrogin.bsky.social that the U.S. Congressional delegation presented Zelensky with a piece of paper they wanted him to sign which would grant the U.S. rights to 50% of Ukraineโs future mineral reserves. Zelensky politely declined to sign it.

The most important thread you'll read today. In brief: Europe has the power to save Ukraine and slip into the leadership position America has vacated. It must grasp it. And Europeans must pressure their governments to do so.
The government is making swift progress in expanding devolved powers to more of the UK, ensuring more local decisions are made and correcting the irregular set up we have now.
Six more areas getting elected mayors of strategic authorities in 2026 & almost 80% of the UK will have devolved powers.
List of Labour changes
I canโt promise these too regularly but much is going on under Labour that you just donโt hear about. Todayโs announcement in flood defences is long needed.
Lib Dem leader Sir Ed Davey has urged Sir Keir Starmer to begin talks on a new UK-EU customs union when he meets European leaders in Brussels on Monday
Sounds like a plan
