The grand jury was selected from people in a college town known for being a party school. I fear justice was never possible for my niece or really any college student in the same situation because it’s easy for the locals to shrug and say, „Just another drunk college girl who learned a hard lesson.“
I say all this, because I doubt this information was ever reported or had the chance to be reviewed by investigators. We were told there was a backlog of rape kit testing analysis of 18 months—and yet the grand jury had the whole case file presented to them after 7 months.
The Academy has many students who seem to be dismissed for this „zero tolerance policy.“ I fear this might be a way to be dismissed before far more serious incidents are ever uncovered.
