SAY THE WORDS JOHN, your opponent can say "abolish ICE", why can't you?

Just a quick update from the Twin Cities. (Please forgive the unsolicited message). THINGS ARE NOT BETTER IN MINNEAPOLIS. The media is mostly moving on, Trump is focused on other stuff, BUT NOTHING HAS CHANGED ON THE GROUND. More than 2,000 DHS thugs continue to roam the streets, abducting people 24/7, assaulting legal observers with impunity, and routinely denying 1st, 4th, and 5th amendment rights. Drones and helicopters are overhead every day. Hundreds and hundreds of terrified families have not left their homes since mid-December ... relying on the community to bring them food and help with rent and other necessities. (Those people are NOT violent drug cartel sex offending murderers, as DHS would tell you. Most are legal residents or citizens.) If anything, things have just become more stressful and intractable (think trench warfare as a suitable metaphor): The resistance is better organized and numerous, but DHS has become more clever and better at disguise... and the county sheriff's office is increasingly supporting them . Do not let anyone tell you that Homans (the new person in charge of the occupation) is making anything better. Do not let anyone tell you that 700 ICE agents leaving the city has made much of a difference; the remaining force (again, ~2,000) is still larger than the entire city's police force (which is legally unable to do anything). Please call your congressional reps ... especially if there is any chance the administration might listen to them.

A desperate plea sent to me by a Minneapolis resident who's been on the front lines since the beginning of the ICE occupation:

β€˜One officer told me that I "had no chance of returning to Minnesota" and that "the best thing for (me] is self-deportation." …
She offered me $2600 to self-deport.
I refused.
I wanted to talk to my attorney.
They didn't tell me the judge had already ordered my release and return to Minnesota.’

happening this morning in Minneapolis -- ICE agents drawing guns on observers. I reiterate again that it is only a matter of time before DHS kills more innocent people in Minnesota. Congress needs to shut this shit down right now.

An ICE agent covered head-to-toe in body cams, just thousands of tiny cameras, beating the shit out of an old woman. That's the bipartisan dream

29.01.2026 00:01 πŸ‘ 3400 πŸ” 718 πŸ’¬ 48 πŸ“Œ 20

Please examine what body cams *didn’t do* to stop police violence over the last decade plus since they were initially touted as a solution and understand that some of you are now rallying behind a false solution that will be a tool of criminalization more often than anything else.

There's no ICE accountability without ending qualified immunity.

They're murdering people. There won't be justice for the lives they've stolen, but there must be accountability.

My bill with @markey.senate.gov would ensure families can sue the agents murdering their loved ones.

This agency was made to kidnap and kill people, you cannot reform an agency made to kidnap and kill people, ABOLISH ICE

27.01.2026 14:56 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 1

IDs & body cams = it's ok to kill and kidnap as long as you leave a card
ICE out of churches and schools = it's ok to kill and kidnap on the way to these places just not inside them

27.01.2026 14:56 πŸ‘ 0 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

So to translate:
DHS required to cooperate with state probes = we're refusing to do oversight, it's your job now
CPB stays at border = it's ok to kill people at the border
Warrants for arrest = please be nice and follow the constitution

I don’t want to hear anything from an elected official unless it’s a plan to defund the DHS and impeach Noem, Bovino, etc. No texts. No emails. No talk about the economy. Step up or step off.

The Trump-Vance administration just used your taxes to pay for an ICE agent to do this to a 21-year-old kid, who was only protesting because another ICE agent killed a mother of three, who was only there because ICE agents are kidnapping your neighbors

I and many many many others are once again, and forever apparently, asking for journalists to not be stenographers for the police, ICE, law enforcement, etc. Your job is to credibly report, ideally, multiply sourced news stories. For the love of Pete, please do that.

After a major effort to cancel subscriptions & public pressure from Indivisibles and coalition partners, Spotify has publicly stated that it’s no longer running ICE ads. Today we reaffirmed our demand that they update their advertising policy to ensure a permanent termination of ICE recruitment ads.

We Lived Happily During the War
BY ILYA KAMINSKY

And when they bombed other people’s houses, we

protested
but not enough, we opposed them but not

enough. I was
in my bed, around my bed America

was falling: invisible house by invisible house by invisible house.

I took a chair outside and watched the sun.

In the sixth month
of a disastrous reign in the house of money

in the street of money in the city of money in the country of money,
our great country of money, we (forgive us)

lived happily during the war

Hey @bennet.senate.gov and @hickenlooper.senate.gov whatcha doing now that the executive branch has kidnapped the head of another country? If your answer is "putting out a sternly worded press release" TRY AGAIN
