โQuieting ADHD Overwhelmโ

I talk about that a lot, but I donโt feel like everyone gets what Iโm saying. Like every person has their own set of innate values that hold true for them over time. Using those values as a compass and becoming more aligned to them is a really empowering process
Love that.
You wonโt get that kind of mindset- gaslighting from me. But Iโve seen it from a lot of less informed coaches and mental health professionals. Itโs really upsetting.
Nope I regulate my reaction to like, rejection sensitivity or a waiter being impatient or my child getting on my nerves.
When I coach people in the midst of our today-level-national-crisis mode, we grieve the situation and talk about who we want to be and what we can control, just to stay sane.
Basically not being in fight or flight. For me personally, I know Iโm dysregulated if i suddenly lash out, I feel a kind of tension in my chest and I think in a really aggressive way. Or I get anxious and panicky.
But thereโs science backed tools to calm down, so now I fix it within minutes
I just saw an ad to therapists that started โweโve all been there, your client has been on and off dysregulated the whole session and you only have five minutes left to bla bla blaโโฆ. The hell?? Dude if your THERAPIST doesnโt know how to help you regulate in the 1st 5 min. Get a new one!!

I thought I taught UNSHAMING ad nauseum, only to find out even my coaching group thatโs been with me for a while hadnโt heard this explanation, so here:
Shame is not an emotion. Shame is a construct that arises when your abuse or victim moment was not witnessed with empathy. Internalized abuse.

Biggest takeaway from Workshop-get clear about this:
Is your stuck point because of
A. your brains wiring
B. The shame construct built on years of criticism from societyโs reaction to your brains wiring
Weโre great at designing structures that work for us. If shame doesnโt derail our creativity

I remembered a few minutes ago, prepped it, and somehow it was exactly 12 hrs before the workshop ready to send.
So it looks like I planned it, but instead I just showed up at the last minute like some of yall are about to do. ๐ ๐

I had this idea to send one last email to my list to remind them about the workshop tomorrowโฆ
So I write it up, that if theyโre like me and thot about signing up and then forgotโฆ and then wonโt remember until itโs too late hereโs the memo .. wellโฆ

My initial theory based on this, is that task analysis is the biggest challenge point. Finding the pathways of the tiniest, least resistant steps and taking them one inch at a time. You can totally master that though! I didnโt used to be able to but now I can
Stop trying to use tools that are proven to not work. At what point are you going to stop blaming yourself when you canโt cut steak with a spoon and start reevaluating the tools youโre using.
And yes, most of those tools were sold to you as โa proven systemโ and โbullet proof methodโ. I call BS.

You mentioned โthis doesnโt happen all the timeโ I wonder if there are any keys in the times it DOESNT happen that would create a way to set up for it happening even less. You know? Like what works about those times. Like, when last 90% is w/o interruption so you never have to touch it again? Etc?
