Congratulations to my UCC CS PhD student Saeid Rezaei, who passed his PhD viva today, subject to minor corrections. His thesis was on Generative Reward Machines in reinforcement learning. Funded by SFI Confirm and Research Ireland Insight. Examiners Ivana Dusparic and Steve Prestwich.

Selana (https://selana.nl/) have launched the first legal e-scooter in the Netherlands. We are working with Selana on the Horizon Europe project SEISMEC @seismec.bsky.social to develop and evaluate human-centric software in their workplace.
