Three-panel meme showing a woman speaking and a man listening from behind a wall. In the first panel, she says “Masks don’t work,” and the man replies “Be honest.” In the second, she says “I don’t want to wear one,” and he again says “Be honest.” In the final panel, she says “I just don’t wanna be reminded of the scary pandemic,” and the man responds, “Thank you.”

This is what it really comes down to.

Masks are a reminder the pandemic isn’t over.

🔹COVID is airborne
🔹Each infection carries cumulative risk
🔹Long COVID has no cure
🔹The pandemic isn’t over
🔹Wearing a mask is still one of the best ways to protect yourself and others

Stay informed. Stay safe.

I think it is ridiculous that we were raised having to pledge allegiance every day to a country "with liberty and justice for all" and now people are mad because some of us actually believed it

Things that will actually help and protect kids:
- gun control
- universal healthcare
- better education about how to keep themselves safe
- actually holding people who harm kids accountable
- giving kids more accessible resources to reach for when they *do* need help
- UBI
- free school lunches

Official concedes 8-year-old who died in U.S. custody could have been saved as devastated family recalls final days The parents of 8-year-old Anadith Danay Reyes Alvarez told CBS News that their daughter died in Border Patrol custody because of negligence and discrimination.

In 2023, CBP killed a young Black girl that they imprisoned by incarcerating her and failing to provide the needed medical care for her sickle cell anemia

You cannot reform this apparatus which kills people no matter which party is in charge

Abolish the Border, Abolish the Police Reading List In solidarity with all those standing up for our communities against the brutality of immigrant detention and police repression, we offer an extensive reading list about border and police ab...

Yes, literally.

BTW when I say abolish ICE, I mean abolish it entirely and replace it with exactly nothing. Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. That's it.

Once again, immigration is not even a problem. Immigrants are not more criminal, they don't cost jobs, they don't harm the economy. There is no reason for any of this. It is hurting ourselves to hurt them.

24.01.2026 16:08 👍 2922 🔁 797 💬 30 📌 34

there is no universe in which ICE should exist

there is no ICE "lite"

there is no ICE with better training that magically upholds human rights

people should be able to go where they want

our tax dollars should not be spent kidnapping & murdering people

this is not complicated or controversial

Given that repeated infections of Covid-19 have become common, and given the likelihood that most of those infections are asymptomatic, it is reasonable to conclude that many millions of people are unaware of the deep, ongoing, life-threatening harm that is happening within their bodies.

I’ve avoided saying “trust me” for six years.

“Just trust me” often really means: shut up and defer.

But now, genuinely, I’m asking you to trust this one thing: you are not immune to repeated cumulative damage from COVID.

It will shorten your life & ruin your QOL. It’s just a matter of time. 👇

The Church Committee Report: Revelations from the Bombshell 1970s Investigation Into the National Security State Revelations from the Bombshell 1970s Investigation Into the National Security State

With MLK day approaching, worth reading what the official Senate investigation found about surveillance, sabotage, and blackmail as part of the FBI's "war" on Martin Luther King.

"No holds were barred. We have used [similar] techniques against Soviet agents...This is a rough, tough business."

Google is forcing more generative AI on Gmail users. I couldn’t think of a better moment to finally drop Gmail (and other Google services)!

I have a guide to do just that here: disconnect.blog/getting-off-...

Don't let copaganda fool you – police violence is not tied to their safety.

The vast majority of police killings actually start with officers responding to a suspected non-violent situation or a case where no crime has been reported.

We need to reassess our relationship to digital tech Getting off US tech led me to a wider questioning of digital convenience

If this year was about getting off US tech, 2026 is the year to reassess the digital revolution — what works, what doesn’t; what to keep, and what to reject.

I’ve only just started to consider what needs to change about how I use digital technology, but I’m excited to learn more next year.

In 2026 there will be more mass media articles and commentators ridiculing people taking precautions to avoid SARS-CoV-2 infection while simultaneously hundreds of pieces of research will be published further demonstrating the long-term harms of infection.

Ignore the ridicule.

You can do a lot locally with a dedicated group of 15 to 40 people. Regular people should be thinking at that scale rather than at the scale of thousands.

I don’t mean to sound extreme, but I don’t think we should have torture camps for people with criminal records either.

The older I get, the more my politics mature from childish, naïve beliefs like "the world is complicated and leaders have to make hard decisions" to more serious, adult principles like "hurting people is bad and helping people is good."

He told me he isn’t worried
about catching the flu or Covid
because he doesn’t know anyone
who has the flu or Covid,
instead what he’s worried about
is the odd “something”
which it seems everyone has,
and though I wanted to scream
instead I said:
masks protect against that too.

There’s so much misinformation surrounding Covid that people really don’t understand how this virus functions.

We are still in a pandemic. Covid is still here.

These systems of capitalism and colonialism are ANTI-life.
They oppose collective care and flourishing.
They are designed to profit the few by subjugating the masses and pillaging the earth.
They are built to keep us struggling for our individual and immediate families' survival, at others' expense.

No matter how hard people try to convince us having empathy is wrong,

No matter how hard people try to convince us that diversity is a weakness,

it is a strength.

No matter how hard people try to convince us that love is limited,

it is unlimited.

The U.S. commits war crimes. Always has, always will.

You can’t unlink the Zero Units in Afghanistan under Bush and Obama from the assassinations of Venezuelans on boats under Trump.

And you can’t unlink either of these from the genocide of Native Americans or the enslavement of Black people.
