There's a new Kate Clayborn??? Yes, please! I haven't read this yet (and don't usually like a wedding backdrop) but I will read anything Clayborn writes. In THE PARIS MATCH a woman attends the destination wedding of her ex sister-in-law and OF COURSE there's an attractively grumpy best man. #ewgc
I've noticed that too. And some things that would have been paranormal romance when that was the hot genre get the romantasy label too. I'll never turn down some romance in my fantasy, but if you add the crime-solving from urban fantasy I'm going to drop everything and read the hell out of that.
I hear you! No shade at all to the publishers glomming onto romantasy, but I would love to see more contemporary fantasy and urban fantasy coming out.

One galley I did read this month was one I was recommended through #ewgc (so thanks, chatters!): THIS KINGDOM WILL NOT KILL ME by Ilona Andrews. The heroine finds herself in the world of her favorite fantasy novel series and in order to survive both uses and subverts the story she knows so well.

I'm about halfway through Ian McEwan's new book, WHAT WE CAN KNOW. A scholar from 2119 takes a deep dive into a literary mystery from a hundred years in the past before climate change massively changed the world. Gorgeous prose, and vibes of Byatt's Possession (one of my faves). #ewgc
Oh good! I'm a huge fan of House Andrews, but haven't been sure I wanted to read an epic fantasy from them. #ewgc
It's pretty good! The books are OF COURSE better, but I wouldn't say it's a waste of $$ to subscribe for a month to binge it. My favorite was the incorporation of actual Sanctuary Moon content. So funny! But no one can tell Murderbot that it's not a quality show (although they try). #ewgc

I'm mostly in re-reading mode for the comfort these days, but I did find out Daniel O'Malley has a new Checquy book out in July, ROYAL GAMBIT. I vividly remember my first read of The Rook, and how it blew me away. Hopefully more great supernatural spy shenanigans await! #ewgc
I'm not a huge consumer of fanfic, but she also wrote Draco Malfoy and the Mortifying Ordeal of Being in Love, which was a delight. So I know she's got the enemies-to-lovers thing covered! #ewgc
At the top of my TBR pile is A WITCH'S GUIDE TO MAGICAL INNKEEPING by Sangu Mandanna. I loved her first book, The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches, in a rabid, let-me-tell-you-about-this-book kind of way. #ewgc

And based on real history! I had never heard the story before last year, but this is the second novel in recent memory about The Kingdom of the Happy Land. Looks great.
If you want a unique take on the afterlife, try this romantic fantasy where a woman volunteers as customer service in Hell. It was so funny, and so touching that I legit laughed out loud and cried in public. FOR WHOM THE BELLE TOLLS by Jaysea Lynn. #ewgc
I love Olivia Dade and this seems like a super fun take on some classic monsters. Danger bang with a surly vampire? Yes. #ewgc
I loved The Spellshop, but Sarah Beth Durst's companion book THE ENCHANTED GREENHOUSE was even a smidge better. I adored Terlu and Yarrow -- two lonely people who work together to heal the broken enchantments of the greenhouse. Even if you don't have a green thumb, you will love it! #ewgc
