How true! Lawyers are not (just) a cost centre.
So disappointing to see major hospitality brands step back from the Better Chicken Commitment when demand & supply of higherβwelfare chicken are growing.
Food service companies should push ahead, not step away.
Well said @omarsalem

A smiling Kyren Wilson.
For the second night in-a-row, Kyren Wilson produces some scintillating snooker - from the brink of defeat - to win the final two frames for a 6-5 victory.
Last night Neil Robertson, tonight Wu Yize. It's Wilson versus Higgins for The Paul Hunter Trophy on Sunday.

Hurrah!
How do you feel about lawyers!? Not always popular, obviously... π
Hi, have just posted about this event, and also sent you website message on possible Amnesty one. Thanks again!

Very interesting discussion last night at Children of Time 10th anniversary event. About spiders obviously but lots more besides! @aptshadow.bsky.social
Regulation is tightly linked to open, uncensored democratic debate and agreement.
De-regulation removes the democratic element and consigns societyβs great power to βthe invisible handβ of markets.

In a significant decision in Farley v Paymaster 1836 Ltd (trading as Equiniti) (Equiniti), the England and Wales Court of Appeal has lowered the bar for claimants seeking compensation for breaches of their data protection rights. The Court decided that in England and Wales court proceedings the concept of "non-material damage" arising out of infringements of data protection law is aligned with the case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) (for example, as explained in 2023 in the Austria Post case). There is no so-called βthreshold of seriousnessβ that a claimant has to overcome to be entitled to compensation.

Grasping in class yesterday for a way of describing the situation where institutions deliberately have procedures in place to slow things down and deny responsibility, I landed on the phrase βmotivated structural inefficiencyβ. Widespread and growing, I believe.
Incredible turnout and atmosphere in Budapest as huge crowds march in defiance of Viktor OrbΓ‘n.
Mayor KarΓ‘csony has shown tremendous leadership, and the organisers huge courage.
It was an honour to march in solidarity with Hungaryβs LGBTQI+ community.
Thank you. π
