I am ever curious, always learning, silly, smart, and creative. I've been everything from a museum blacksmith to an archaeologist, historian, conservator, museum consultant, author, videographer, teacher of online courses. I have walked a wonderful path.

I note that Jesus expressed outrage over the money changers at the Temple when he threw over their tables. In today's Christian Nationalist America he would have been called a domestic terrorist. Today's Christian Nationalists only value Power and Greed. They are the bizarro opposite of Jesus.

So when I got to college I became interested in the history of religions and took courses and deep reading. I've always been spiritual, and Zen comes closest to what I experience. I admire the moral progressive message of Jesus who held Love and Compassion for all people as his highest values.

I was never raised with religion. My mother's family was Episcopalian and my father's family was Jewish. I suspect that they both stopped practicing when they were adults and left home. My grandparents hated each other over their religions. I was only in churches for weddings and funerals.

Opinion | James Talarico Is a Christian X-Ray The Democratic senate candidate in Texas is teaching us about what faith really means.

In @nytopinion.nytimes.com

The significance of James Talarico’s run, our columnist David French writes, is β€œnot the old news that a Christian can be progressive, but rather that Christian politicians can actually act like Christians.”

Justice Department and Live Nation Reach Settlement Terms in Antitrust Case The agreement, which requires a judicial sign-off, would avoid a breakup of the concert giant. But states who joined the suit object to the terms.

Breaking News: The Justice Dept. tentatively settled an antitrust lawsuit with Live Nation, Ticketmaster’s owner. The agreement still requires a judge’s approval and it would avoid a breakup of the concert giant.

How Special Is The Sun? Is It Special Enough To Explain The Fermi Paradox? If only a truly tiny proportion of stars is capable of sustaining intelligent life, it would explain a lot. But is the Sun that rare?

How fast does a protein fold? Real-time technique captures the moment Proteins assume complex 3D shapes even faster than does DNA, which is a simpler molecule.

Scientists say they have made some of the first direct measurements of how long it takes an individual, ordinary protein to fold – and the results were surprising.
