Thank you so much! At the moment, there are only 2 of us working on the podcast but yes, I’m in the process of producing an episode on autoimmune diseases. I was really surprised to learn that women make up 80% of autoimmune diseases!!!

Since (MIS)Treated launched 6 months ago, we've covered endometriosis, fibroids, PCOS, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, ADHD, Alzheimer's & more. It's clear women's health is not a niche issue. If we don't have good health, it makes it much harder to “lean in" or be our best selves. Women's health matters.

Graph of award probability of R35 and R01 from NIH factbook as a function of review rank percentile. As is apparent, 2025 is a significant departure, with lower award probabilities at all scores <40 and significant departures from norm, where even being in the top 10% is no longer a nearly certain indicator of success.

The data is in: the NIH goalposts have shifted.

What were once almost certain fundable scores have become coin flips and what used to be likely grants have become aspirational, leading to fewer awards.

Another manifestation of how HHS policies have led to fewer awards and less science.

Elizabeth Renzetti: We’re gambling with men’s health. Here’s why that’s bad for all of us The percentage of men reporting “very good” or “excellent” mental health has fallen from 70 per cent 52 per cent in a decade

I wrote about the importance of a men and boys' health strategy, which Ottawa has just announced.

That's good news for International Women's Day too.

As a boomer, I’m shocked by gen Z’s attitude towards women – something has gone very wrong | Joan Smith New research suggests older people have more progressive views on women’s rights than younger generations. This direction of travel is deeply concerning, says Joan Smith, former co-chair of the Mayor ...

“…new research carried out in 29 countries, including the UK, that suggests that almost a third of gen Z men believe that a wife should always obey her husband. A similar number say a husband should have the final say on important decisions.”

"For me the big red flag is: does it end in the supplement shop?"

IMO this is the question we should always be asking when it comes to privatized health care - especially for historically stigmatized issues like menopause.
