That doesn't mean that everyone has a good experience with them and we do know of people who aren't.
If cureent patients feel there's issues with care that we need to know about then we want to know.
The Laurels had a reputation for poor treatment. There are a lot of awful stories about them in the 2010s. Current patients that we know seem to be having a generally good experience of care. But they've had to get through the 7 or 8 years of waiting first. And that wait only gets longer.
This is such a big deal for the trans community. This is what can actually fix trans healthcare!

Safe journey Kristina.

Good morning, Kristina (@nightkristina.bsky.social) here reporting on Exeter Trans Pride.
We will shortly be heading over to England's worst GIC, The Laurels on Dixs Field, to gather - With a waiting list of 31 years for a first appointment.
Thanks! We're pleased with that, and maybe 10 people changed their name today!
This essay is a tour de force. To trans people, it reads as a grim reminder of the litany of indignities and travesties visited upon us by the UK government. To cis people, I hope, it is a bracing and sobering wake up call to how illiberal the UK and Labour have become. 1/
One additional thought:
The 8 year wait is down in the South West, where the wait is the longest in the country. This is one of the reasons we formed, to protest this neglect that destroys lives.
Please remember that wait time whenever you hear someone say transgender health care is rushed.

Changes of this scale by ministerial fiat sets a dangerous precedent and undermines the sovereignty of the House.
We cannot let this happen in secret, behind closed doors."

"Parliament and the public are not expected to even gain sight of the Code until after it has had Ministerial approval, and MPs are expected to have no opportunity to debate or vote on this momentous change in Parliament.
This letter calls on MPs to defend the right of Parliament to scrunitise, debate and vote on legislation that will impact all of our human rights.
The changes in the draft guidance will see trans people excluded from the services they need and use on a daily basis, many of us excluded from both men's and women's space in an act of transgender segregation. We expect the upcoming guidance to be little or no better.
The letter callws for robust Parliamentary scrutiny of the Equality and Human Rights Commissionβs (EHRC) forthcoming Code of Practice on Services, Public Functions and Associations.
Today we signed the @transactualuk.bsky.social letter to MPs across the UK, along with over 80 other organisations other Trans Prides and LGBTQ+ advocacy groups.
