As I walked out of PPS HQ*, it was w/SADNESS & immense GRATITUDE. I was elected to the School Board 2x when PPS was seriously off track, and was a 🔥 for change. I gave 💯 (12 yrs perfect attendance) to our brillant students & public schools. I loved ❤️ serving on the Board; some days it was hard.
After 12 YEARS, 8 MORE DAYS on the Portland School Board … Throw back to 2017 Election Night: 24 years here of PPS School Board ZONE 6 Representation: 2001-2005 Brim-Edwards follow by Trudy Sargeant and Tom Koehler and then back to Brim-Edwards again.
My Last OSU graduation…Delivering OSU Board congratulations on a Beautiful Central Oregon Day celebrating this small but mighty OSU Cascades Class of 2025. With Trustee Grant Kitamura.

A perfect ending of the Graduation season!! ❤️🥲 TASSEL TURNED & THEY’RE GRADUATES of Alliance High School…These students all took their own unique path to Alliance and to earn their diploma!! They overcame challenges and obstacles to be here! Creative, kind, and determined. We are proud of them!!
This afternoon was the last of my PPS graduations over my 12 years on the board…probably about 30 in total. Graduation is the best year event … so much joy 💕 & happiness … from the students, parents, families and staff!
🙏 My HEART Is full. It was an honor of a lifetime to be wrapped in this beautiful blanket at Indian Ed Honor Day for our collective work during my PPS Board tenure. Sending gratitude to the Native parents, staff, and elders for showing up, speaking with courage and heart for Native youth.
I cosponsored an amendment w/Comm. Singleton to restore employment services which are essential supports for individuals chronically unemployed/homeless. Critical for East Portland! No proposal for raises. Yes to $$ for treatment court, DV prosecution, & body worn camera implementation.
