So Philip Glass just joined TikTok. He only has like 4 posts and they’re simply him in what I assume is his living room playing the piano. First comment on one I saw was β€œyour piano is too close to the fireplace, you’ll dry it out” and if that’s not the internet in a nutshell I don’t know what is.

If you wanna be radicalized against GenAI, try running an online business while these thieving shitbricks try to scrape your site at all hours of the day, creating a looping, endless DDoS.

Fuck generative "AI." It's all slop built on wholesale theft.

I would probably pay slightly more for goods and services if every single place I spent money didn’t ask for my phone number, email, full name, address, send a survey, ask for a review, tell me about their rewards system, and offer me a credit card.

Maybe conclusion isn't the right word. But I what I mean is younger cartoonists coming up are broadly drawing on different lineages of cartooning/comic making and don't have the same baked-in history of alt comix. Similar to 'genre collapse' in music because of the wider availability of material

I’ve been thinking lately of Hanselmann and Van Sciver as kind of the logical conclusion to this mode of comics making

A lot of Elliott Smith songs revolve around drug use, depression, anger, heartbreak. But few people talk about his exploration of the shame associated with male pattern baldness
