The hidden impact of injuries costing AFL clubs millions New research highlights the financial impact of injuries in the AFL, with one club losing $13 millions over six seasons, nearly 17 per cent of its total player salaries.

Match-loss injuries and illnesses incur a considerable financial cost relative to the player salary expenditure in the AFL.
