I saw this wonderful El Greco painting, The Apparition of the Virgin Mary to St Lawrence, in Monforte de Lemos, Galicia. There it was, unannounced, with its extraordinary look of spiritual awe and wonder on the saintβs face. St Lawrence is carrying the grid on which he was tortured, as always

I am looking for a database or list of Royalist officers in the English Civil Wars. Thereβs one for Parliamentarians, but canβt find one for Royalists. Any suggestions?
Do any English Civil War historians or fans know of a recent or forthcoming biography of General Thomas Fairfax? Heβs being overlooked in the torrent of books on Cromwell and the Republic
