This is the aftermath of an ICE kidnapping a few blocks from my home in St. Paul—an hour ago. A quiet street full of broken glass and at least three wrecked cars. The target of the kidnapping was taken away by ambulance. He was on a stretcher and covered by a sheet, though a cop said he was alive.
One of the best things I’ve read in a while:
Trump’s America.
AOC: ICE has less accountability than virtually any law enforcement agency in the U.S., yet they are some of the most well-funded, operating with impunity—and we just saw them murder an American citizen in cold blood in the street.
The MIT professor Nuno Loureiro was killed at his home by an old classmate on the run from a shooting at Brown University, the authorities said. Loureiro “was like an Einstein without the crazy hair,” his former colleague said.
An FBI “Seeking Information” poster about the Brown University shooting. The top banner features the FBI seal on the left and the words “SEEKING INFORMATION” in large white letters on a red background. Below, bold text reads “BROWN UNIVERSITY SHOOTING,” followed by smaller text stating “Unknown Suspect,” “Providence, Rhode Island,” and “December 13, 2025.” Beneath the text are three surveillance-style images of the same individual taken from different angles. The person appears to be wearing dark clothing, including a dark jacket or hoodie, dark pants, and a dark beanie or cap. In two images, the individual is shown walking near a black iron fence and brick pillars, possibly at or near a campus entrance. In the center image, the person is walking toward the camera on a sidewalk, with their face partially obscured by the hat and image quality.
New photos released of the person of interest in the Brown University shooting.
This is a fucking nightmare and right now I am very, very angry with the people who put Trump back in office.
More and more kids are going to die from preventable diseases.
As I have said for months, RFK Jr. has more power to singlehandedly kill more Americans than any other cabinet secretary.

Thank you!!
I am going to Brown to be the ILD director there, starting in mid December - exciting, nervous, and going to miss some people at BWH very much
Would love to come, it looks great! Unfortunately I’m out of town on my between jobs vacation, can’t wait to hear about it!
I’m sorry I’m missing it!!
@ipfdoc.bsky.social Are you going to be sharing your “outrage” over the ATS ILA statement? :)
The Harvard Crimson Throughout the seven months of correspondence reviewed by The Crimson, Summers and Epstein referred to the woman Summers was pursuing in some messages by the code name "peril" but never used her name in messages directly describing the relationship. On at least two occasions, the two men discussed Jin's emails to Summers, which he forwarded to Epstein. In later messages, the two men appeared to joke about the probability that Summers would have sex with the woman, apparently Jin.
gosh I wonder why they called her peril www.thecrimson.com/article/2025...
Summers is still on the faculty at Harvard's Kennedy School and actively teaching undergraduate & graduate students
Beautiful night to go outside
I cannot overstate how remarkable it is that under GOP rule, US federal health regulations have been captured by fringe crackpots who espouse views that the vast majority of the US public—and nearly 100% of health professionals—reject.

In honor of Jimmy Kimmel get suspended in part for saying "And by ‘statistical fact’, [Vance] means ‘complete bullshit’,” in response to Vance's false claim that most political violence is from the left, here's the DOJ report showing the opposite, that the DOJ conveniently just memory-holed:
We now have confirmation that RFK Jr. fired Dr. Monarez because she refused to alter the childhood vaccine schedule. These recommendations have kept our children safe, but RFK Jr. wants to change them without any evidence to support that decision.
CNN headline that reads: "Supreme Court allows Trump to block $783 million in National Institutes of Health grants for now"
The Supreme Court just greenlit Donald Trump gutting nearly $800 MILLION for medical treatments and cures.
Congress approved this funding for a reason: it saves lives.
This is disgraceful, and families will suffer.
“.. Yikes – @EliseStefanik literally got booed off the stage TWICE at an event in her district today.
She hasn't hosted a #NY21 town hall in years. Now we know why.”

There are 100k students in med school each year. Room and board is about 100k per year. For 10b a year, med school could be free. We would see a wholesale change in the profession, career paths and the cost of care.
It would change the economics for every financial decision doctors
We have no visiting hours in the ICUs, but only some have rooms are large enough for family members to sleep and stay. The change back to 24/7 visitation, like it was pre Covid happened just a few months ago.
Agree that the raw numbers are less meaningful than the trajectory, but I’m less convinced about the impact of guidelines. I would imagine it depends on the guideline topic and how much it actually changes clinical practice. Also no one is surprised you’re being controversial 🙂
