I asked a JP friend, apparently there are a surprising number of ppl who are ok with the change, because they felt that the weapons from the design contest should be accessible for everyone. I feel like if this was the case, ppl who cleared savage should get a new/diff reward to compensate...

They sort of did this with occult crescent. While I love OC, the chests in there give a bunch of otherwise pretty rare rewards from eureka/bozja which I also felt was kinda bad since it discouraged people from going to that old content which I still thought was super fun!! Both Eureka/Bozja > OC!!!

That being said, I think advanced is a great way to get ready for criterion! It's difficult enough to prepare you for it and it doesn't have an enrage, so you can practice for it without worrying. :) It's also pretty fun to blind prog with friends and just scream/yell

It's a bit of a spit in the face to us who grinded it because aloalo savage was more like an ultimate--20min of fighting, no stopping, and absolutely no deaths. They're effectively handing out Ultimate-esque weapons to EX-level clears.

They changed it that you no longer need to do alo alo whatsoever to get the weapons :( You just need to do a few runs of advanced. I think you need 40 of the currency, which you can get in one run if you're super duper lucky.

yeah I just saw the new update post they made and I'm even MORE disappointed. People don't even have to clear aloalo criterion normal anymore. o(-< Man I can't even express how upset I am now. I feel like I just got spat on. Do they not understand it's the same as giving ult weapons for EX??

Still frustrated because this patch would've been bomb if they didn't do the aloalo savage ester changes. Advanced is a nice inbetween regular variant and straight up criterion and it was fun! 😠

I know right!! I'm still bummed out about it despite all that because I hold criterion close to my heart. I'm thinking of sending Squeenix some disappointed emails but honestly I don't think they'd walk this back. Too many people are ok/happy about the changes.

Good job SE on ruining the only hard content in ffxiv that I've been interested in and proud of myself for doing. A lot of your changes are out of touch but this one takes the damn cake.
