Gotta take a moment to celebrate friends doing great things! I looked at this book today, and it’s a fantastic group of contributors for what looks like an excellent book! Great job contributing to accessible science, Emily!

Noooooo! Don’t stay strong. It needs you and you need it. It’s a perfect match.
Beautiful photo! Those blue wings…😲

Drs. Sachdeva and Hewitt in front of a slide about implications of cognitive load theory.
Drs. @nsachdeva.bsky.social & Jim Hewitt share about classic studies in Education, starting w/ working memory & cognitive load theory @ #RedTO25. I was just discussing this w/ @numcog.bsky.social over lunch. I wish all teachers learned about this in their BEd training! It changed my teaching so much
Dr. Ansari speaks, while a summary of his main points is on the slide behind him.
Great talk!
Dr. Ansari begins his presentation.
Listening to @numcog.bsky.social share about automaticity of math facts. I’m always intrigued by the parallels between math and literacy in both robust research findings and common pushback arguments.
“When weak research drives decisions, students pay.”
Dr. Jamie Metsala stands beside a screen, giving a keynote lecture under a massive stained glass window in a church at ResearchEd in Toronto.
At #redTO25, @j-metsala.bsky.social is delivering a great summary of the history of reading instruction and the alignment and misalignment with research along the way.
It’s a first for me too, but it’s beautiful in here! I’m looking forward to meeting you in person at some point today!
😲 In Manitoba, 7 in 10 teachers said either whole language or balanced literacy approaches are used to teach reading. Only 9% reported structured literacy as the most common approach. 60% of teachers & administrators said the current approach to teaching reading isn't working.

This webinar, with @mrzachg.bsky.social and @blakeharvard.bsky.social is sure to be great! And it’s free!
So sorry to hear, Nadine. This is absolutely devastating. Thanks for sharing updates like this. It’s important that those who are not currently part of the school to have an understanding of the very real implications. I wish you much strength and wisdom as you navigate the question of “now what.”
Moment of appreciation for the bull bison alt text. 😂
Congratulations, Darren! It sounds like the beginning of a lovely new adventure.
Oh, Nadine, I'm so sorry that this is your present reality. I can't imagine how utterly devastating all of this must be.
HELP! GaabLab has been supporting the #Dyslexia community since 2007. Now we could really use YOUR help due to recent funding cuts that threaten our lab's existence: We're looking for supportive foundations & collaborations, very grateful for any small gift community.alumni.harvard.edu/give/51711873
