This is what happens when you ask me to help sanewash the Trump tariffs.
No they don’t. Canada and Mexico want none of this. They want the president of the United States to respect and abide by the trade treaty he negotiated with them - and not make up bogus pretexts for plunging us all into a gratuitous no win economic debacle.
Happy New Year, Friends! 🧧🧧🧧
Would certainly love Hong Kong versions of these
This is horrific. Official report from Canadian public health group contains made-up science. #medsky #episky
Beyond appalling.
Harry Harrison wishes good fortune on the local cha chaan teng: today's Hong Kong cartoon

- George Orwell, 1984
If you see this, post a bird.
A graph depicting female life expectancy at birth over the years, with the vertical axis representing lifespan in years, and the horizontal axis indicating years from 1840 to 2023. Various colored dots represent different countries, with Hong Kong with the highest in 2023 at 88.1 years. The graph notes that Hong Kong and Japan have held records for the past 40 years. Previously, countries like Iceland, Norway, Australia, and Sweden were among the highest. Data sources are the Human Mortality Database for 2024 and UN World Population Prospects for 2024.
Life expectancy has continued to rise in the longest-lived countries
My favourite cinema in HK
Outside 12C feels like puffa weather in HK, in Canada I’m walking round with my jacket open 😂
I don’t know how, but 12C in HK feels so much colder than 12C in UK or Canada!
If you look on the HK Movie app you will find any cinema that is showing it without having to search different cinema group websites. I’ve found screenings of films long after their general release.
Just another reason in the long list of why Jackie chan is a dickhead.
And it is a long list.
Very moving to see South Korean citizens exercising their right to protest. This is a society that understands their democratic rights are fragile and must be defended.
I know it's hard for Western countries to look to the rest of the world as role models for anything, but damn, Western politicians could really learn a thing or two from South Koreans about going all in to defend democracy
(specifically thinking of Germany & the US rn, but I'm sure there's more)
Someone holding an ice cream cone outside an ice cream van
Leaving HK for 3m today, not ready to leave. As usual. Only thing for it is the certainty of small pleasures. Enjoyed this, strolling along (because you can only go at strolling speed eating an ice cream) with all the tourists. Cheers to all, residents and visitors alike, who really fucking love HK.
Saw this outside a shop in Yaumatei. Never seen one before. Does anyone know what creature it is? #HongKong
Nice one, @kentbuse.bsky.social
Knowing that the HK gang is all here sure makes the migration more palatable. Thanks for the list, and including my nonsense on it, @kjoules.org
LOVE this thread. Combines two things I really enjoy: Derek Guy’s thoughts and Tokyo, specifically its stylish men.
Helena Wong (top left), Owen Chow (top right), Clarisse Yeung (btm left) & Winnie Yu (btm right) have appealed the verdict and sentence length after being convicted of "subverting state power" in the "47 person" case. Their sentence lengths range from 6 yr 6 mnths to 7 yr 9 mnths.
The LGBTQ community in Hong Kong saw a landmark victory on Tuesday as the city's top court upheld housing and inheritance rights of same-sex married couples after government appeals against lower court rulings.

So great to see you here on Bluesky! Thanks for posting here.
It’s been an amazing part of the American experiment honestly. People use freedom of speech to work themselves up into hysteria and despite being more well fed and entertained then anyone else in human history are able to convince themselves they are doomed victims and must turn to authoritarianism.
Have you seen it yet? If so, did you think of it?
