We updated our record of people immigration agents have killed or caused to die since Trump took office in January 2025.
As of today, agents have killed at least 28 people in the field and 48 people in custody.
"We are wrong because we started the war" should be the anchor point for all coverage of what's happening and it's remarkable how quickly that tends to get obscured.

New York Times is reporting that Trump’s justification for war with Iran is baseless just like George Bush’s justification for war with Iraq. The Iraq war cost to the United States $3 trillion & thousands of lives. www.hks.harvard.edu/publications...
Oh so this is what NYT called "friendlier tone"
ICE OUT
Tar and Feathered
2026 Version
the protests are feeling more spontaneous and organic and abundant which, to me, seems like a strong sign of sea change
BREAKING: Bernie Sanders is introducing an amendment to cut ICE’s $75 billion funding increase, and to use those funds to restore the federal cuts to health care.
Georgia Fort, an independent journalist and vice president of the Minnesota NABJ chapter, was also arrested by federal agents this morning
I was sent this video of agents at her door:
No arrests of the ICE thugs who murdered Alex Pretti, Renee Good, or Keith Porter. No arrests of anyone in the Epstein Files. But they arrested Don Lemon because of his journalism.
I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.
Stay free
They say we live in a bubble when there is a dude so fully ensconced in podcasts, twitter, group chats, and stimulants that he thought he could dress like a literal Nazi and start shooting people in the street and be remembered as a hero
These people live in a shrinking and dying parallel universe
BREAKING: The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Demands Resignation or Termination of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and Deputy White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller for Smearing Slain AFGE Member Alex Pretti as “Domestic Terrorist” www.afge.org/publication/...
Following the killing of AFGE Member Alex Pretti and the subsequent slanderous rhetoric that followed from top Trump administration officials, AFGE National President Everett Kelley issued the following statement: “Yesterday, AFGE brought together labor and faith leaders from Minneapolis and across the nation to mourn our fallen brother from Local 3669, Alex Pretti. We honored his life and legacy and lifted up his family, his friends, his union, Minneapolis, and our nation in prayer. “Today, we demand accountability. “In the immediate aftermath of Alex’s killing, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem betrayed the public trust by slandering the good name of our union brother and calling him a “domestic terrorist.” Alex Pretti was a patriotic ICU nurse at a VA hospital who devoted his life to serving America’s veterans. That claim was reckless, defamatory, and unsupported by the facts. Noem was preceded in this false statement by Stephen Miller, Deputy White House Chief of Staff, who is also the architect of the chaotic and failed immigration policy in Minnesota. “Our demand is clear: Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who was responsible for carrying out the policy that led to Alex’s needless killing, and Deputy White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, the architect of that policy, must resign immediately. If they refuse, President Trump must dismiss them.
The American Federation of Government Employees, which represents border patrol officers at the National Border Patrol Council, calls on Kristi Noem and Stephen Miller to resign or be fired
Trump's demotion of Bodino is the first of many fractures that will tear apart Trump's fascist coalition.
Before, they were united by the war they had declared, together, on the rest of humanity.
Now ICE are just murderers who were betrayed by a doddering old man, rightly hated by a whole society.
The people of Minnesota won and the regime is losing. Thousands of neighbors rallied together day after day and proved that these fascists are weak and beatable. The people rejected them, and we’ll continue to reject them.
For any elected official who needs to hear this, I impart a lesson learned from the NFL:
When the other team is tired and on the back foot, you don’t call a timeout so they can catch their breath. You grind their fucking face into the dirt until the final whistle blows and you’ve won the game.
Do you understand they are weak and their violence comes from weakness?
If we fight them together, if we link arms, if we say enough in one voice, they will crumble and we will be free to create something better, something we deserve.
I’m begging. Please. See it. Know it.

BREAKING: The National Basketball Players Association issues statement on ICE killings in Minnesota.
“[W]e refuse to let the flames of division threaten the civil liberties that are meant to protect us all.”
Alex Pretti and Renee Good deserve a proper funeral procession.
If I were an actual religious leader in the Twin Cities, I would be thinking about organizing the most enormous public memorial service possible for Good and Pretti. Time it with the next general strike. Put *everyone* in the street for a funeral procession that stretches for miles.
We got a photographer following protests and ICE assaults in Minneapolis today

ICE wants us to cower. The moment requires us to fight back! On January 23, all around the country we stand in strength, love and solidarity against ICE's campaign of violence and fear. #ICEOUT
I will just keep repeating. I have never never never seen anything like this. 30 years of reporting.
