The announcement today from the Albanese Labor Government to send an E-7A Wedgetail aircraft to the Gulf and provide medium-range air-to-air missiles to the UAE shows Australia has been fully dragged into another US forever war.
Australians don't want to get dragged into Trump & Netanyahu’s illegal war on Iran. Labor shouldn’t be sending troops to help a military that’s killed 150 schoolchildren in a primary school bombing. To keep civilians safe we should be urging peace, not sending missiles.

Everything else aside, trump declaring that he will choose the next leader of Iran is objectively hilarious because he literally chooses the worst possible people for every position he fills.
Some examples: Vance, RFK, Hegseth, Noem, Bondi, Leavitt, shall I go on?
So, in launching a huge bombing campaign on Iran they apparently didn't plan for:
- Who takes over;
- Interceptor shortages from sustained drone retaliation;
- How to defend US bases in the region;
- Threats to ships in the Strait of Hormuz; and
- How to evacuate Americans with airspace closed.
