Thank you @annadixonmp.bsky.social for raising this important point. It's time for change long how we actually DO politics.

We had this rule that you can invite the number of friends equivalent to your years. Four kids for a fourth birthday, and so on. They always were brilliant. No tears and tantrums, no overwhelms and no mountain of presents.

What's the fake job the Trump administration gives you after they humiliate you because they're worried you'll spill the beans?

We're looking for social sector organisations supporting children under the age of 16 that want to measure their economic impact to raise the profile of their work.
Reform fury as someone else wins by Our By-election Editor Tim Shipsink The losing candidate in the Gorton and Denton by-election, Matt Goodwhinge, has demanded an immediate re-run of the election on the grounds that he lost comprehensively to someone else. "It's totally unfair and rigged," said Goodwhinge. "I shouldn't be required to sit there and suck it up, just because I lost." Mr Goodwhine continued, *I can't believe that all those voters I demonised failed to back me. Especially after I was endorsed by Tommy Robinson and ten million Russian bots on X. "We have clear evidence of family voting, where people voted in order for me to stop deporting their families." Mr Badloser concluded. "I'm the victim of colour prejudice. They didn't vote for me simply because I'm not green." Reform leader Mr Farage, speaking from a sun lounger on a rock near the Chagos Islands said, "It's a tragedy that the people of Manchester won't see Matt in Westminster, but my constituents don't see me in Clacton either." Beautiful from Private Eye on the massive toddler-tantrum that Matt Goodwin and Reform are having, because they got whooped in Gorton and Denton.
Pot. Kettle. Black.
That's massively reassuring and not at all weird.

God isn't it good to read such words?
Might Trump laying into Starmer finally lift Keir's approval ratings here? This seems to be happening when Trump meddles too aggressively in other democracies. Thoughts?
Reform win a seat: The true Volk have spoken and we all must listen.
Greens win a seat: Early reports that Muslims may have βvotedβ (an ancient Islamic practice designed to steal elections). How severely should the franchise be limited in response?
Of course. And I wasn't saying we should charge people for their evacuation. I was saying that people who loudly claim that they want to live in place without taxes should now not expect the taxpayer to rush to their rescue (which I fully expect we will of course do).
Brits in Sudan did not on the whole argue in the media and politics that we should run the UK more like Sudan - that it's desirable to build a state that doesn't ask from contributions from the richest.

There is something to be said for those holding British citizenship paying taxes here even if they donβt live here, this is the system the US has.
Otherwise they do just slope back here when things get tough and use our NHS, our infrastructure without contributing.
Great angle. If you want a nation state safety net, you should bloody pay for it.
The migrant workers/slaves who built the city is geopolitics. The dirty money, the sanctions evasion, the uneasy relationships with neighbours, the war UAE funds in Sudan... Anyone living there is exposed to geopolitics. Just now they can't pretend otherwise.
Unbeatable stuff
"According to theβ¦annual Harris Poll, for the 1st time, a majority of Americans believe billionaires are a threat to democracy. A remarkable 71% believe there should be a wealth tax. A majority believe there should be a cap on how much wealth a person can accumulate." www.nytimes.com/2025/12/14/o...
