Aggressively muttering, "you're welcome," under your breath when the person you've held the door open for walks through without thanking you.
Good news - it's the first 30 pages of THE VOICE SAID KILL from @sispurrier.bsky.social & friends - a fantastic comic!

Linkedin Post from a Pinterest designer reading: "Yesterday I was impacted by the Pinterest layoffs. I was Pinterest's only icon designer and product illustrator. In his email to the company, the CEO said "weβre doubling down on an AI-forward approach β prioritizing AI-focused roles, teams, and ways of working". I WAS working on AI projects including the Pinterest Assistant that soft-launched in October. If you haven't heard about that feature launch, you can find it on Pinterest's own newsroom or with a Google search. I was vocal internally about how our users don't want AI slop or features on the platform, how we as employees are feeling uncomfortable and discouraged about AI, and what I wanted from leadership. Last year, I told my manager I was worried about AI-based layoffs. I was told not to worry. At an onsite, we were told that "in the future", we would all be "managers of AIs". That I would be expected to manage some sort of AI employees, rather than craft and design my own work. Human-made art and design matter. I am never going to stop creating, even if the "home of inspiration" decides that creators are secondary to profits. If you want to support me, you can follow me on threads or instagram @bonniekatewolf where I post my hand-knit sweaters and oil paintings. If you want to hire a human illustrator, designer, or iconographer, my email and DMs are open for freelance, contract, or FTE roles."

So it's time for me to move to another platform to save images

My seven year old agrees! πͺπΌ
Cynically, it feels deliberately corporate-focused to me, which fundamentally misunderstands why UK comics are having the resurgence that they are.
The veritable anchor, one might say!
Completely ignoring the actual people who drive the community and create the ideas! π€¦πΌββοΈ
Simonβs amazing, heβs lettered a ton of my 2000AD work! He will make your dialogue look good

My hand holding a copy of Through the Boughs: A Yuletide Offering comic book from DSTLRY. The cover has the title in yellow, over a graphic illustration like a Victorian illuminated book, with circling, white leaf patterns and a yellow candle.
Who did I promise this copy of Through the Boughs to yesterday?!
I'll probably be cluttering up Si's table from time to time, so message me if you want a copy from me, or a chat! Or find me flitting around the con in a daze at all the gloriously talented people exhibiting!
The front cover for #1 of Jock's book, GONE, for DSTLRY comics. It's an abstract image of the letter, 'D' with a pink, blue and yellow swirling black hole, with a starry background.
My cover for DSTLRY'S anthology, Through the Boughs. I drew an alternative logo, in yellow and illustrated leafy elements around the letter D, on a green background.
I'm coming to Thought Bubble, but I won't be tabling so I've brought a few copies of my illustrated variant covers for #1 of @jockbsky.bsky.social's incredible sci-fi epic, GONE, and the wonderfully creepy festive anthology, Through the Boughs: A Yuletide Offering. Let me know if you'd like one!

A 4-panel comic Panel 1) Henry is pointing at his potty, Rachael and Rob are looking. Henry: Mummy! Daddy! My poo looks like a house! Panel 2) Rachael and Rob look into the potty. Rachael: It...does? (*it did not) Rob: A house? Who lives there? Panel 3) Henry thinks. Henry: Mmm...a TRUMP! Panel 4) Rachael laughing, Rob looking sarcastic. Rachael: Hahaha! Rob: Wow, Henry. Scathing political dialogue there.

Me holding a glass of fizz, wearing a black OTT collar, rhinestone sash and other costume elements for the character Lili from the film Legend. There is a stack of cheese, surrounded by autumnal foliage, with two candles burning on top instead of a traditional cake.
A view from the DJ booth of me in costume, reaching for the sky in a red room, with disco balls hanging from the ceiling.
Me in my costume, standing on a mini round stage, with red lighting and lots of Halloween decorations.
Last night I mourned the passing of my thirties with some amazing pals and danced until the Dark Lili (Legend, 1985) costume I made at the last possible second with foam, velcro and a glue-gun, literally fell apart. Bliss.
Thank you so much to the excellent @iamgiantwoman.bsky.social for asking the important questions today at our MCM panel! Really hope people heard some useful info and took something positive from the discussion. I, for one, learnt that most of us fell into this crazy business, "by accident"! π€£
Today at MCM! Come see us waffle about what the "Other People" do in the process of making comics! 3pm on the Artist Alley stage.

The New York Guggenheim was rather spectacular yesterday. Even on a drab day the light filled the space with interesting shapes and shadows.
