This is philosophically naive.
With anti-canonical thinking came movement to the kind of higher modernism that exemplifies elitism. These are Neoliberal wealth gaps converted to cultural capital as a middle-class defence against losing the high ground. Popular poets like Hughes, Heaney and Larkin are no longer possible.
