Sherry Gorbach was also a long-time Editor-in-Chief of @cidjournal.bsky.social #IDsky #TuftsUniversity #TuftsMedCenter May his memory be a blessing.

A few of the highlights of his work include: anaerobic infections (back when people thought that anaerobes were non-pathogenic), co-discovery of the C. difficile toxin, health significance of LactobacillusGG, and the drug development of fidaxomicin.

I was lucky enough to cross paths with him as an ID fellow and fondly remember his vast fund of knowledge and love of telling stories.

I am sad to share that Dr. Sherwood (Sherry) Gorbach passed away peacefully this past weekend. He was a giant in the field of ID who spent much of his career at Tufts Medical Center/TUSM.
