Ben Jennings : on the money
This's excellent from the PM
I am not prepared to commit our military service people to action, unless I am sure that what they are doing is lawful & has a viable basis. They deserve to know that their PM cares &pays attention to whether what I am asking them to do is lawful & I will always do that.
Itβs almost like the whole panic over migration that seems to grip some political parties is entirely manufacturedβ¦
The overall situation is very serious and I ask you, reading this, and everyone to act calmly and sensitively to this. British lives and civilian lives are at risk.
Many are likely to try and exploit this situation for their own personal political gain, misrepresenting the facts...
In 2020 Nigel Farage said of MPs who defect & refuse a by-election βitβs not right, itβs dishonorableβ
Giving voters the right to have a say on an MPs defection is vital to restoring trust in our politics - and isnβt that exactly what the government has pledged to do?
What an utterly disgusting and dangerous front page from the Mail today. Surely by now everyone can see that Reform is a party that thrives on division, fuels anger, and uses the scapegoating of minorities and migrants to gain support. Everyone it seems except the Mail
If ever you needed a front page to capture the crass yet also dangerous silliness of so much of our media, and the impact of right wing nationalism which has done so much harm through a history from which some seem so unable to learn
I see @theguardian.com is once again attacking SKS and Labour for Denton. Owen Jones/ Marina Hyde β¦. Meanwhile Nigel Fascistβ’οΈand the illegal βlocal residentβ letter, the Reform people trying to intimidate voters, and this β¬οΈare unremarked on. Not a single media outlet was interested.
Statement from Matt Goodwin, UK candidate: Reform "Given the reports we are reading in UK media about family voting and sectarianism, I am deeply concerned about the extent to which the Gorton and Denton parliamentary by-election is a free, fair, and democratic election." 11:21 pm . 26 Feb 26. 286K Views
Not just a loser.
But a bad loser.
π Former Tory defence minister Ben Wallace: βIt is a serious Military base which does serious work. It doesnβt need a pub bore like Nigel (who didnβt even appoint a defence spokesperson this week) performing MAGA stunts.β
π We can only guess that Farage couldn't face being anywhere near Clacton...
Kemi Badenoch getting irritated and talking over Martin Lewis as he calmly tries to explain why her student debt plans will only help the richest graduates
I'd be more careful with my syntax if I were having a whinge about this.
David Starkey just canβt help himself: now heβs talking about black people βdipped in chocolateβ
The once-respected historian has descended into public racism again on his podcast. The even bigger problem is, heβs now an adviser to the hard right

*30%* ffs. I wonder what that figure would be by now if our media werenβt still almost exclusively populated by intellectually indolent wankers too pompous to admit that they never had the first idea what they were encouraging everyone else to vote for. (With a side of plums who deployed βbalanceβ.)
Farage βwants to distract people into thinking their problems are because of women or equality and diversity policies, or immigrants. Like Trump, it shifts the discourse and thatβs v dangerousβ
Women must turn Farageβs problem with women into a problem for him.

βSuella Braverman asked for my help to get maternity leave when she was Attorney General. As first pregnant AG she needed new rights. (I helped ofc, she took mat leave and returned to govt office) Depressing she now plans roll-back of rights for aother womenβ.
Harriet Harman
Not sure why Reform announcing theyβll scrap the Equality Act 2010 hasnβt provoked widespread alarm.
They want to torch our human rights framework AND repeal our right to protection from discrimination.
A smile and a shrug on BBC News.
What the hell?
FFS, media. Tell people what this really means.

When EVERY media outlet is βblamingβ SKS for the Local election change β¦ when Farage is crowing that HE is democracyβs champion, (and can now βbuyβ every council seat with his millions, as Trump did), and when I get people on here who DO NOT SEE what is going on, i know where we are headed.

This is the calibre of Reform councillor you may expect.
Good luck.

As every media outlet promotes Nigel Farage and his Reform company, as we are told they will undoubtedly form the next govt, it is worth reminding ourselves of a few βunmentionedβ outcomes.
But hey β¦. go ahead and place your X in the box. Coz thatβs what the media tells you.

Wonβt tell you, because they want you to vote for Reform.. who will strip you of your rights/access to NHS.β
The only question worth asking at these incredibly flash Reform press conferences that take place every week now, is who is paying for all of this and what do they want in return bsky.app/profile/pete...
