fabulous conversation; fyi, Janice's sound quality was uneven, and if she began speaking while you were still speaking, we could hear nothing that she said.

Echo chamber pot.
I got so mad, I replied twice. (We met a million years ago, in Riga.) Keep up your good work.
Drives me crazy. How can any self-respecting journalist put words like "policy" and "strategy" and "Trump" in the same sentence??? Unless preceded by words like "mockery of" or "sham". Or just plain FAKE.
I don't understand how any self-respecting serious journalist can put Trump and policy/strategy in the same sentence. It's some form of weird autofill. It could only work within quotation marks, or preceded by "so-called" or "mockery of" or "fake".
Seems my local NH Republican legislators are looking to overturn mandatory rabies vaccination for pets. I guess the Deep State can turn your puppy trans communist using microbots. Anyway, everyone knows you can cure rabies just by getting your dog to drink whole milk in a hot tub.
Kathleen Edwards at Vancouver's Commodore Ballroom last night
Kathleen Edwards last night at Vancouver's great Commodore Ballroom. Two hours nonstop, great voice, great band, music for the love of music.
MaHaHaHaHa
and Kathleen Edwards at the Commodore tonight!
hey, @cbcstephenquinn.bsky.social Kathleen Edwards at the Commodore Friday night! I haven't been there for forty years, betting it's the same as it ever was...
they lost me at "fulsome".
Mark, this is heartbreaking to read, and must have been so to write. Thank you and your colleagues for being there. Kudos to @theglobeandmail.com for continuing to support robust coverage of this dreadful war.
When reporting becomes elegiac.
Iβm Canadian, familiar with this phrase. Iβd never use it and expect it to be used about a certain kind of man.
This is glorious.

I wrote about something I've been thinking about for a long time. A kind of post-ironic collapse in our politics and culture where nihilism has become the lingua franca of the internet and beyond. It links Kirk, Clavicular, Epstein, memestock/coin stuff, mass shooters. I hope you'll read it.
Curling doesn't necessarily have to be just a winter sport.
The CIA scrubbing the World Factbook from the web may not seem like a big deal in itself, but it's a symptom of something larger: the Trump administration's war on government usefulness.

I agree with your premise, wondering who are the Canadians who should have been hired?
@ishaantharoor.bsky.social Iβm so sorry to learn that youβve been laid off. You (and @roncharles.bsky.social) were the only reasons I hung on to my subscription. Youβre indispensable on the Trump administrationβs foreign βpolicy,β and youβre an excellent writer. The Washington Post is a carcass.
A large stuffed folder of files with the title βEpsteinβ is seen with what looks, at first glance, like a red page marker sticking out of the bottom. On closer inspection it is the bottom of a Trump red neck tie. French newspapers once again showing the kind of basic journalistic integrity lacking from most US national newspapers - whose collective negligence has helped ensure a man implicated in the worldβs most notorious sex trafficking ring gets to remain President. That the orange pedo felon remains in office is a plague on all their houses. Cunts, one and all.

Canadians could channel their feelings about what's going on at the Post not into Bluesky posts but writing their MPs about acting on foreign ownership, telling them to get off X and hold press conferences when they have something to say (and be questioned after), keep their promises on the CBC...
Solid evidence that our recommendations to high-risk Apple users makes sense... π
