Yeah it does. There's a branch of 7H for Linux that can be used on Steam Deck. I'm told it's pretty easy to set up.

The idea is the roam the planet cultivating life, but don't stay in one place for long.
Evidently it's been a common misconception among FFVII fans that the Cetra are aliens who travel between planets because of this awkward translation lol. First I've heard of it.
New FFVII Steam port sucks ass, but thankfully mods still work so you can use 7th Heaven and have its FFNx game driver just totally override their new shitty one lol.

This strobing effect existed in the PS1 version of FFVII but was broken in the PC port and all future releases. FFNx's TrueOdin recently fixed it after several grueling days lol. FFNx will likely have this behing a toggle since it's so eye-strain inducing, but glad it is fixed.

So they're releasing a new steam version of ff7 that will likely take some time to become mod compatible, and will delist the current version once it is out. The current one is on sale for just $5 rn so you may want to grab it before it's gone forever lol.
