Reporter's Inbox: Social media Catholics erupt at US bishops over Hanukkah greeting At the beginning of Hanukkah, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops shared well wishes to the Jewish community. Catholics on social media responded with a less-than-Christian response.

Catholics online celebrated the birth of Christ this year by engaging in disgusting and deplorable antisemitic hate speech because, *checks notes* the USCCB wished our Jewish friends a Happy Hanukkah.

There was hardly any Catholics calling out this abhorrent behavior publicly. So I did.

Some positive content for the day: at lunchtime, I ran to the post office for Christmas card stamps. The employee joked that, in order to buy that many, I had to sing “Joy To The World.” Challenge accepted! She and I had a full-fledged sing-along at the counter. Let us our songs employ, indeed! 🎶🎄
