Yeah, which is exactly why I asked lol

I'm not personally much of an IRC person, but this is fascinating
Ok so not that I love either one -- but just so I'm clear, is this just that they're taking crypto *money*, or is it also that they're somehow integrating crypto into the *network*?
I think there are probably levels to it: people amorphously say "Web standards" *all the time* and then sometimes rattle off specific ones. ATProto doesn't have to be front and center of the application to be worth mentioning or of potential interest to a user
*Please* tell me that this redo of the full DB Super timeline means we finally get to have a Cell Max that can talk and remembers Gohan
(I'm a JavaScript Straight, but *many* people I meet can't actually tell that there's a difference)
Even after opening the graph, I'm still reading this like when @codyjohnston.bsky.social generically calls all his viewers "news perverts"
malegislature.gov/Events/Heari...
For everyone else reading, whose office doesn't have notes, go check out this hearing and start at 2:22:25 for the abridged version. (Note that I somehow flubbed the bill numbers of all things, which are actually S1347 and S1291)
@massago.bsky.social Serious question: how egregious does an Equal Pay Act violation have to be for your office to actually do something?
I've gotten two consecutive private right of action letters, from two consecutive experiences with this. One was even *because of the other.*

I don't think I've ever seen a wilder example of nominative determinism than learning that the DHS secretary's full name is
Kristi

I'm still extremely partial to "WHAT'S EXIF DATA," but this is still amazing nonetheless

@matrix.org
But while there's value in the opportunity to start fresh, I agree with you that we don't *necessarily* need to reinvent everything just because we can
I'm partial to Matrix -- the bridging support seems immediately relevant to this kind of thing, Signal is a little centralized for my taste, and I've never loved the continued use of phone numbers
Relating to the initial question (of changing handles from within Tangled)
(I realize the answer to this is *eventually* "run your own PDS" but I'm not *quite* there yet and trying to do this incrementally)
(Also, once I do have all of this configured, is there a Tangled issue I can watch somewhere and possibly contribute to?)
Alternatively then, I assume I can move the one I just created *off* the Tangled PDS?
(My immediate sense is I might just be able to do this from some other tool, but I'm just now getting around to setting up a handle for this purpose in general and simply haven't poked around your settings until ~5mins ago)
@tangled.org are there any plans to support changing handles from within Tangled? Primarily asking in order to point it to a custom domain
To be fair, this happens to me *any* time I try to post actual technology discourse there -- as opposed to quips about companies that hide salaries, but lie about how much they value "honesty and transparency"
This is something I have to remember about a lot of things (see also Joss Whedon, albeit not in this context afaik)
But as much as that doesn't automatically extend to, say, Billy West, I did immediately go straight to "Bad news, everyone"
Character limits would not let me include:
- hides all of this from his partner's family and the weird guy at school who's onto them
As an evil, otherworldly entity who:
- is governed by a magic book of rules
- is bound to a teenager by the rules of the same magic book
- starts catastrophes entirely because he's bored

The arrests of journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort are a test for every MSM member with a platform. If you are not voicing your outrage at this blatant violation of the First Amendment, you are utterly discredited as a journalist.
