So many young and promising animators nowadays are chewed up and spit out, can’t even live where the jobs are. Our society is deeply sick in many ways and we don’t have to accept it as normal
“You can’t just have an animation job and expect to keep it long term” is such a whacked out statement to make but one I’m seeing a lot about re: odd1out firing his whole team with no prior warnings. People so easily accept that artists are disposable and not owed consistent work and stability
I had someone try and defend him real hard last time I said something about this and somehow everything I learned about him made it worse that he chairs this con lol a massive hypocrite to say the least

Just considering it atm because I love ceramics so much but it is a physical commitment, between driving to the studio itself and all that comes with throwing. I dunno. I’d also like time and space to create non commissioned work for others in ceramics too so!!
Considering…. Talking to loved ones…… maybe going to take a break from ceramics after I get stock done for Anthrocon. I love ceramics but it saps so much time and energy from my body. I’d like to do some painting again, and work on some linocut printing. Much to consider

The first con I ever vended at made some…. Rather meh changes to their room and I applied but I’m not counting on getting in. They’re maxing space for booths, limiting single tables and axing the artist alley….. so ig smaller artists aren’t their priority 🫠

Every time I remember Aggretsuko I get really frustrated again about how it only really served to enforce the status quo for Retusko + made it blatantly obvious the were gonna sandwich her and Haida together no matter how incompatible they were. Just so much wasted potential imo
