The fact that most cis people fail to identify this as transphobia plain and simple is evidence of how much our existence is not taken serious in this world.
This is the way trans healthcare has functioned for most of its existence (look at the people who wrote the guidelines in the '80s, '90s, and even '00s).
We managed to have a few years where we kinda had some control over our own bodies and the cis would just couldn't stand it.
By some incredible fortune, I ended up becoming a gorgeous woman despite transitioning quite late. And still, my life could have been so much more if I'd transitioned when I should have.
I don't want our kids to have to mourn and wonder "what if?" for the rest of their lives like I will.
