Agreed on all your points. Having experience on both sides of these scenes has helped me understand the commitment that is needed to play safely and how to mitigate potential issues. I hope that my regular play partners see me as sometime willing to put similar energy into scenes as what I ask for.

There's certainly a "wrong way" to seek a scene, especially without an established relationship, but that directness has made my recent play a lot more fun and fulfilling than being afraid to ask.
