Turns out the hardest part isn't designing.
It's just starting.
I’ve been procrastinating on Fernand’s marketing site for almost a year, to a point where the marketing landing page doesn't reflect all the cool futures we've built on the product. That's quite embarassing...
Once the direction feels solid enough, I stop polishing in Figma and jump into code. That’s where things actually become real for me. I even rarely come back to Figma after that, except to export assets, or when I need to solve more complex things.
That’s usually how I work. I don’t use Figma to get things right. I use it to explore, mix ideas, try directions, delete a lot, and move fast without committing too early.
I’m redesigning Fernand’s marketing site, and this is what my Figma looks like right now.
It’s an absolute mess.
Frames everywhere, half ideas, screenshots, random experiments, things that don’t belong together...
