Man, #HeartEyes fucking rules. It’s a legit full-ass romantic comedy (but there’s also a serial killer in there). Hilarious, exciting, magnificently gory. A genre-bending delight. @michaelkennedy.bsky.social and @joshruben.bsky.social have done it again.
#Companion absolutely slaps! Why haven’t I seen this movie advertised everywhere? Its original. It’s funny. It’s clever. It’s fucked up. It’s the next movie you need to see in the most packed theater you can find. Absolute instant classic!

This year I decided to watch older movies that I’d somehow never seen before. There were a lot of stinkers that I’d (rightly) avoided. But every now and then I’d come across something amazing. Some obviously so. Here is a list of the best movies I’d never seen before this year:
My 35-pound French bulldog ate a bag of Lindor truffles on Friday and had to go to the emergency vet. This same dog, about 2 hours ago, ate a pound of See’s chocolates from under the tree. We are now spending Xmas Eve at the same emergency vet. Have a better holiday season than us, folks.
I really dug CARRY-ON. The type of fun 90s action throwback I wish I’d had written. #carryon
There’s also the goofy, dim-witted new boyfriends that are a threat to our bad fathers.
(One becomes Santa Claus, one can’t utter a lie). They both try to undo this magical hindrance. They both are at risk of losing both their careers and family because of it. They both finally accept what’s happened to them and learn about how to be better fathers.
How did I just now realize that THE SANTA CLAUSE and LIAR LIAR are the same movie? Both feature deadbeat divorced dads who spend too much time at work (and lying about it) to be with their sons. Both dads, after disappointing their sons again, have something magical happen to them.
Krampus! Lethal Weapon! Wait… Cobra is Christmas?! Why don’t I remember that?

Thank you! Funny enough, this movie was not written as a Hallmark movie and was much “edgier”. But once they bought it, it was transformed to what you see today.
