Schone Rivieren

Ook dit voorjaar deden wij als vrijwillig onderzoekers weer mee aan het citizen science onderzoek van Schone Rivieren.

Ons onderzoeksgebied ‘De Kwellingen’ ligt aan de oever van de Merwede bij Werkendam.

We vonden tientallen stukjes hard en zacht plastic, glas, rubber en metaal.

A common redshank wades through shallow, still water, lifting one bright orange-red leg mid-step. Its soft brown upperparts and pale, finely speckled underparts are clearly visible, along with a straight bill that fades from red at the base to dark at the tip. Gentle ripples spread around its legs, and the bird’s full reflection is mirrored crisply in the calm surface below.
