This research explores the idea of data cooperatives, which are groups where people collectively manage and control their data for mutual benefit. Specifically, it looks at studentsβ motivation and perspective on current data governance practices at the university and some alternatives, such as data cooperatives. Data cooperatives are voluntary, member-based organizations, where members pool their data together and manage it democratically for their own benefit.
