Yeah, there's some things to like here, but we can't just lock in stasis on housing - that's the core of everything: doesn't really matter if you have childcare if you can't move our of your studio, minimum wage of $30 is good but not if still rent burdened at $1600/month. Not to mention census!

Is Delgado really the guy? I have my complaints about Hochul, but his priorities don't seem like they're addressing her shortcomings. Most prominently, his housing priorities page doesn't have a single goal about increasing housing supply, and he doesn't even mention transportation or education.

Different people take inspiration from different framings. For one person, incremental success builds momentum and their sense of progress. For another, it takes wind out of their sails and saps motivation. I'm definitely in the latter camp, so I don't read this as defeatism, but as motivation.
