there's no good way to figure out what people two or three degrees removed from you are up to, and that's exactly what people used to use the algorithmic feed for on twitter
i think most of the problems people have with feeling isolated on bluesky would be fixed if the discover feed wasn't absolute total ass
"discovering this artist fully reconfigured my brain and helped me turn myself into a completely different person" type of situation
something you might not know about me: i have an inability to be normal about the band pigeon pit
Famously one of the things about genies is that they do go back in the bottle.
i still haven't figured out what a "girlfailure" is supposed to be
i had a similar experience with transmedicalism also when i was 17. i didn't really get freed up from it until the transmedicalism dam started to break societally (which happened to be about 3 or 4 years later). if the societal shift had taken longer i probably also would have taken longer to start
this is unfounded speculation based purely on chronic illness intuition but: i think ME/CFS and "burnout" are driven by the same underlying mechanisms, the only difference being the difficulty of recovery (ME/CFS is much harder to escape from due to some extra biological burden keeping it in place)

guys, i don't know how to tell you this, but if that genie can't be put back then we need to beat him to death with baseball bats
they're trying to eliminate 90% of white collar jobs and people are still saying shit like "can't put the genie back in the bottle"
i can't believe i spent eight years getting a degree in the field that's first on the chopping block for our nonconsensual technocratic new world order
where's the spray that attracts them instead
I'm trying to find this story I read a few years ago (Maritimes, pre-2000, I think?), wherein a neonazi group tried to establish themselves in a small town, but their little clubhouse was burned down, rebuilt, and burned down again so they gave up lmao. Long shot but hmu if you know
glad that my intuition isn't off base i guess lol
if music isn't going to have functional institutions of criticism and art history, i think it actually is up to artists to help trace those lineages
i think it would benefit the world if musical artists talked more explicitly about the works that inspire their music
it's not just tuning shit upward. you're changing the voicing
