There is a lot to be said about photographing birds from home. The time at hand to understand, appreciate them. My local park is a delight every season of the year.
Thank you! You make me feel a lot better. I only use GenAI on a rare image when it's too time consuming to handle by manual photoshop.

What a great contrast between the two birds. Both big characters.
Wow I am so bad at manual focus. Big respect for everyone who does it.
That's a whole new food for thought. Travel is essential for my mental sanity. To compensate, I do everything else I possibly can, even including the drastic decision of not having any children.
Thanks Rob

Weekend thought.
I avoid #AI but use #Denoise etc AI features in #Lightroom. Is it also heavily environmentally damaging? What SW etc could I use instead?
What if sharing my delight in #birds and forests I end up causing them harm instead?!
Any views?

I have a question. We travel over Christmas and NY & I get lots of bird photos but by the time I get back, sort through, etc the years list is closed. December pics get disqualified. Till when is the annual list open & (in a whisper ...can I put the last 5 days of the year into the current year?)

1st time we went they were out. We returned the next day and they were there far away. We took some photos & made our way back.

How about this for an Odd Couple? (still love that old serial!)
For #BirdOfTheDay theme #MixedPairs
P:S. the relationship didn't last long, as moments later, the lady Hornbill arrived :D

Your comment made me think. Here's what I found. π
It's migratory here in Austria.

How wonderfu they had the local Plovers to help find food π
Hold on it'll be spring soon. Our local Grey Heron is back from its winter travels.
Pretty bird π
Interesting. Do you have both species commonly in your area?
Ohhhh very sweet and dramatic
Nice! They really look like people in an urban rush π
Beautiful photo
3 Book covers arranged in a simple format. Book 8 - The Silent Miaow is much loved and laughed over book from years ago. A must read if you are a cat person. π Book 9 - The Ramayan Read (or rather heard), contemplated, understood, respected and finally much saddened. This version beautifully explained and narrated. Book 10 - The Mother of God As I wait for Paul Rosolie's new book 'Jungle Keepers' to reach me. What a fantastic journey and a subject so close to my heart.
February was an interesting month.
