The Sunday scaries don’t seem so scary when it’s only a 3 day service week AND you’re on with your favorite partner.

At 35 yo, I’ve finally realized that all the “self care” grooming we do as women - the manicures, waxing, self tanner - literally does not matter to men AT ALL. At least all the ones I’ve dated. I could wear a trash bag & I don’t think it would matter.

So I’m just gonna do what I want..

Kids eat early lunches (to accommodate all the later snacking).. 11am pizza sounds perfect.

I’m Maddie, and no one will take me seriously as a doctor if I’m *this* outgoing & laugh so much.

Sat on a faculty panel tonight for the med students’ peds interest group & seeing all their bright shiny faces - so well rested, so excited to figure out what they love & want to do with the rest of their lives - was my little bit of hope for the day.

Will love med students forever.

My job is filled with sweet stories of kids being absolute cuties. But those same little cuties are also so humbling sometimes.

I just walked into a 3 yo’s room & she looked at me, pointed & very clearly said “you’re a monster!”

So good for my self esteem 😂

Yeah we do our schedule every 6 months.. 12-18 mo in advance feels crazy. I don’t know about any events except weddings that far away

Idk what I’m “known for”.. but my most viral tweet was about how on the tv show ER, an intern performed a paracentesis BY HIMSELF on his very first day.. and on *my* first day of residency, I had 5 separate people double check the script I wrote for a newborn’s vitamin D drops.. which were OTC 😂

Except I’m a terrible liar so I confessed immediately they were store bought 😂😂

So my sweet resident advisee always brings me a treat when we meet & I told her when we meet this evening (we’re both on nights) I’d bring treats.. I had big plans to make something homemade, but really contemplating just putting some bakery cookies in a Tupperware & passing them off 😂

Okay friends, I need Christmas gift ideas for my best friend. She’s an (adult) ID doc & is currently very pregnant - having her second baby in January. Typically likes any gift that makes her life easier/more convenient.. and go!
