Actual reply: but that's the thing, although these games are set in Kanto, it ain't gen 1. FireRed and LeafGreen are technically gen 3. Starting with gen 1 makes a lot of sense, but then why not the actual gen 1? Maybe in addition to the remakes? To be clear, I'm not complaining. I'm just confused.

But why only FR/LG instead of also the gen 1 and 2 titles? It's not because "we already portes gen 1 and 2 to the 3DS is it...
And why not also Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald? Please tell me it's not because they're STILL so gen 1 biased that they think these are not worth it...

why Ike "has to have this ungabunga pose" ("Who holds their sword like this?"), it is an actual historically accurate swordfighting pose we use in historical European martial arts! It's known as the Stier and is surprisingly satisfying.
The illustration comes from I think a 15th century manuscript.
