(4/4) More "people" were signed in against the millionaires tax than are rich enough to pay the tax. Sounds fishy because it was.
tldr: taxes on the wealthy and funding for our schools and social services ARE incredibly popular. The CONs had to think creatively to make it seem otherwise.
(3/4) Many people were signed in CON without their consent, including a state Senator who co-sponsored the bill. I (the person in the video above) was signed in CON, as was the executive director of this tax justice coalition! Her sign-in CON included a typo from her PRO sign in.
(2/4) Some signed in 50-100 times. Many of these happened rapidly (in under a minute) in the middle of the night despite captchas taking about 30 seconds to do by a human.
Scandal of the season alert - after conservatives were bragging about the number of people signed in opposing the millionaires tax, it was discovered that many of these sign-ins were falsified.... (thread)
