Wonderful last episode of the season. The conflict is well brought and perfectly executed. The idea that the fear of being alone drives people to embrace tyranny, or other forms of dictatorship, is powerful. The acting is always on spot. What a masterpiece. Can’t wait for the next season.
I was still in France when he got elected and I thought: they have Fallout, Half Life, Counter Strike, Planescape, Die Hard, Jurassic Park, Alien, Terminator, Dune, Fahrenheit 451, Hyperion, Ender... and it wasn't enough. Now they have to also have the coolest President ever. The US were so cool.
If I already have the PS2 original copy, is it still worth it?
Yes. You are essentially buying 2 games in one.
The best way one can learn is to shoot more. The best way one can improve shooting is to develop less. Being intentional is so hard and so crucial in the apprenticeship of any craft. And anything that makes it painful to create abundance is generally good to force intentionality.
« I have a black friend ».
And how is it on TV? Was it that frequent? How come I've never, ever, heard about this problem in France? And I just Googled it... and... damn.
They were somehow destroyed into tiny pieces or something. I don't know why I suddenly thought of that. And there are so many things wrong about it. I don't ever recall even hearing about any stomach worm when I grew up in France. And let's assume they exist, can we even see them in the first place?
I recalled a piece of ads I saw on TV quite frequently when I was a child, back in the late 80s, in China. It was about some sort of medication against some sort of worms. There was someone, maybe a doctor, explaining why with the new formula, we don't see the dead worms in stool anymore.
I used to borrow and read all those magazines from my friends at school. So many great memories reading Joystick or PlayStation mag. Now, I read APWOT. But the real place to be to buy cool mags is still in Japan. And if you ain’t fortune enough to find the old ones:

C’est tout de même dingue à quel point l’Olympico offre bien plus de spectacle et d’émotion que le classique, qui, avouons le, n’a plus aucun intérêt depuis des années.
Tried to watch Amazon Prime. Didn’t realise they have ads now. And not just some. A lot. It reminds me of old broadcast TV back then. Well, I wasn’t into video streaming, now, I have another reason to dislike it even more.
I’ve waited for years and finally, it came: github.com/ExxistanceDC...
And now, it’s been like 5h probably that I’m replaying the same first hour of the audio book in 3x because, well, what I wrote above.
I always picture things while I read and listening to audio books makes it so hard. When I hear about those Shrikes, I start to see how they look like based on the description. But as I do so, since I’m so mono-task, I can either picture or listen. Not both.
Unlike books, it’s so hard for me then to find where I lost my attention. There is no way to quickly search something I heard vs something I read. I also find the pace way too slow, so I listen in 3x, but the voice is distorted and I lose all immersion.
I started listening to Hyperion in audio book because I got a free trial on audible. Over the years, I tried and tried to get into audio books but I always failed because I can’t focus enough. Either I fell in sleep or I start to think about something and realise too late I didn’t follow anything.
The game took me way longer than I expected and what a rodeo. So many up and down, so many great and horrible moments, so many terrific and terrible experiences, but I’ll clearly remember this game. Despite all my frustrations, I enjoyed it very much. GG.
Just finished the game. That last fight was awesome. And I liked the ending. Super mega ultra cliché, another Adam and Eve, but it was cool. Funny that I have to wait until the very end of the game to actually get to be on the offence and satisfy my thirst for brawlers.
Picture Blade Runner, the 1997 game, and. You use that computer to expand the picture to check for clues, and you identify the potential rogue bot’s car plate number. You go and arrest the target only to realise, too late, that the zoom uses generative ai and the number wasn’t correct.

That scene about those aliens hyped about the writer writing again is exactly why AI can’t generate arts. What a great show.
In a game where the ultimate rewards seem to be costumes, the UI is terrible at actually communicating how many costumers I have unlocked and how many are still to be found. These are truly design choices I don't get because they did it for fish, for logs, and even for cans... why not for costumes?
The hardest part of games like this is that it is so frustrating that it gets into my skin and the more frustrated I am, the harder it gets. The entire combat, like so many nowadays, is all about patience and planning. It is DDR under its skin. I truly don't get why the industry has gone that way.
There is nothing more frustrating than an epic boss fight and in the middle of it, it introduced a new mechanic you've never encountered before, and it is horribly explained, and with the stress, players panic and understand even less. And die. Disgusting.
The weapon/item selection UI in this game is such a catastrophe.
What’s the point of making games that look spectacular and everything is done to break the flow and make players feel like idiots. I was so happy with that evangelion like space fight sequence and now, I’m frustrated as hell again.
Boss fight with instant kill mechanic that requires to shoot to interrupt but it happens mid fight so I have no bullet left… seriously.
